Sophie’s First Birthday

Hey friends, I’m finally writing this super overdue blog post with all the details from Sophie’s first birthday party. My friends and I started the planning back in June and it was just the perfect amount o time so we could get ready for August 21st. Since we did everything (decoration, balloons, food), it was a lot of work but SO WORTH IT. I would do everything over again!!

Let’s start with the party decor. I wanted something fun and vibrant that would remind us of Summer. I called the theme “Summer Vibes” and our decor had lots of pineapples, flamingos and bright coral, pink and gold colors. The party looked beautiful and the kids had lots of fun.

These marquee letters from AlphaLit KC definitely lit up the party and were specially beautiful during the sunset. I Also LOVED the pink heart after “SOPHIE”. It was the cherry on top!

My friends and I cooked/prepared all the food and I could NOT have done it without their help. For appetizers we had some guacamole + chips (my Mexican friend did it and was delicious), garlic dip, Brazilian chicken finger foods, and fruit skewers. For the main course I made Brazilian style hotdogs and for dessert we had Brazilian chocolate truffles, cake, and popsicles for the little ones. Besides pop and lots of water, we served @aspiredrinks “healthy energy” fruity drinks and they were everybody’s favorite.
